Detroit has officially arrived as a contender in the East. Cade Cunningham's leap into All-NBA territory anchors a group that finally has the supporting cast to match — Jalen Duren's interior presence, Ausar Thompson's two-way wing defense, Ron Holland and the rest of the young core are no longer just developmental pieces but legitimate playoff contributors. Detroit is built to win games in the halfcourt and in transition, and with the rebuild finally bearing fruit the Pistons can credibly target a top-four seed in the East.
