The year-long Mathurin pursuit reshaped September: to finalize his 2yr/$16M deal, New Orleans cleared ~$5.7M by trading Jordan Hawkins and Micah Peavy to Memphis for AJ Johnson (a camp evaluation flier) and Taj Gibson, who was waived and promptly retired.
